US psychologist launches divorce app
US 
TV psychologist Jeff Gardere has launched a mobile app aimed at couples going through a divorce.
The Healthy Divorce Application is designed to help people going through a divorce to understand and anticipate the different stages of the process and the emotions associated with each It includes audio and video as well as special weekly essays from Dr Gardere. Users will also be able to send in anonymous questions. The psychologist will answer one enquiry per day and make his answers available to all the app’s users.
Dr Gardere said:
“The number of divorces taking place on a daily basis in [the US] is staggering. But the number of people seeking out professional help is minimal in comparison; hopefully this app can offer help to those unwilling or unable to see a professional in person.”
He added:
“The app positions itself for success by allowing users to anonymously seek out help for feelings most people prefer to keep private. Rather than going to a friend or family member, which may be uncomfortable, the user can learn from — and even interact with — an experienced mental health professional in literally any setting they choose.”
The Dr. Jeff Gardere Healthy Divorce Application is available for both Apple iOS and Android devices.
