Lots of people want to name the person that the spouse has cheated with. They feel that they need to do it. They feel that they need to show publicly that person up for what they’ve done.
However, the whole ethos of the divorce process is to keep things anodyne, to keep things calm, to keep things as simple as possible. Bringing a third party into proceedings is complicated. It makes things more expensive and it raises the tone of the proceedings.
It’s not necessary. The court frowns on it. It’s not necessary to cite a third party in divorce proceedings and my advice is: don’t even go there.
