California policeman has girlfriend pulled over to propose

marriage

A sheriff’s deputy in Los Angeles County got his colleagues to conduct a traffic stop on his girlfriend Ellen so he could propose to her.

Deputy Kevin Bowes is based in Palmdale, 60 miles north of the city of Los Angeles. A fellow sheriff pulled her over on the big day and told her she was suspected of driving under the influence. The worried woman got out of her car. The sheriff instructed her to walk in a straight line as part of a sobriety test, then told her to turn around. When she did so he found her boyfriend waiting for her on bended knee with a ring.

Thankfully for everyone concerned, she said ‘yes’.

A video of the incident was posted on the Facebook page of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, with a caption reading:

“We are so happy for you brother, and thank you for allowing us to be part of this wonderful moment. Welcome to the Tan & Green family, and may you have a wonderful life together.”
