The British Association of Social Workers has extended the deadline for responses to its ongoing enquiry into the role of social workers in the adoption process.
Launched in May, the academic-led enquiry is focused in particular on the role of human rights legislation and ethics in the way social workers approach the adoption of children in local authority care. Earlier this year it published a questionnaire soliciting evidence from interested parties , including both parents and young people who have experienced the care system, along with social workers themselves, family justice professionals, politicians and other academics.
The deadline for submissions is now October 31. The enquiry is scheduled to run for a full year.
