Moore, known for high profile documentaries like Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11, claimed in court documents that the couple’s relationship had come to end and there was “no reasonable likelihood the marriage can be preserved”.
The pair no longer live together, MLive reports.
Moore’s filing seeks dissolution of the marriage and a temporary hold on either couple selling or transferring their assets, including stocks, shares, property and furniture.
Glynn has not yet replied to her husband’s filing. The couple have one child, Moore’s stepdaughter Natalie.
The couple were married in October 1991 in their mutual hometown of Flint. Two years earlier, the city had been the setting for Moore’s Emmy award winning debut film Roger & Me.
Glynn produced both Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine, which won an Academy Award.
In the mid-1990s, Moore presented satirical BBC co-production TV Nation.
