Divorce and Splitting Up – the ink and paper edition!

Marilyn Stowe's family law bookWhen I launched my Kindle book Divorce & Splitting Up: Advice from a Top Divorce Lawyer in January 2013, I hoped people going through divorce or separation would find it useful during what can be a very confusing and difficult time. It has since gone on to sell more than 1700 copies and drawn positive reviews.

This was my first book in nearly ten years and I was determined to make it available to as many people as possible.

It was written for anyone and everyone considering divorce, irrespective of their personal and financial circumstances. I wanted to be frank about the practical challenges and emotional toll of divorce and splitting up, but also to reassure readers, arming them with confidence as well as information.

Reduced family incomes and the demolition of family law legal aid mean courts are filling with people who have chosen, rightly or wrongly, to go without professional legal advice.

The Government’s efforts in this regard are are lame and limp, and its guidance is flimsy. So I tried to help.

I’m delighted the book is making a difference. But digital books aren’t for everyone. Some people don’t have a Kindle and some just don’t enjoy reading on their phones or tablets. That’s why I’m pleased to announce the imminent release of Divorce & Splitting Up - the print edition! A pallet-load of these books are to be delivered to Amazon next week, and it looks like the book will also be available from selected bookshops in the near future. Watch this space…

Hi Marilyn,
I just wanted to say “Thank You” for helping me through the last few months with your wonderful book. I discovered in March this year that my husband has been having affairs with 3 different women over the last 3 years & I didn’t know!!!. I confronted him on the Sunday morning & by the Monday morning by 10.30am he had left the marital home, we have been married for 22years. He had retired 4 years ago & has been a nightmare to live with as he is so bored!. Anyway he wants to separate but after reading your book which has help me “sort my head out” we are going to divorce. As I am 67 & he is 71 I don’t see the point of just separating, I am upset so I may as well be upset & go thro a divorce now, sooner rather than later.
Thank You once again for an “EXCELLENT” kindle book, it really does give you some very good advise.
