G4S appointed new provider of Child Maintenance Options information service

Family on beachMultinational security services company G4S has been appointed supplier of the government Child Maintenance Options service.

The Crawley-based company was awarded a five year, £18 million contract to run the service following a competitive tender.

Child Maintenance Options provides separated parents with information and assistance on setting up maintenance arrangements with their former partner.

These can be voluntary ‘family based arrangements’ or statutory services for parents who cannot reach an agreement.

G4S will provide information to parents via telephone as well as social media , text and instant messaging.

Child Maintenance Options Director Janet Wojtkow said:

“We’ve helped almost a million parents with impartial help and support since we started the service five years ago. We look forward to helping even more parents work together in the years to come – to ensure their children get the best possible start in life.”

Last summer, G4S hit the headlines when it struggled to supply sufficient security staff for the 2012 Olympics games.

Yes, it is that, a government Child Maintenance Options service. I just wish we had a representative government by the people for the people.
