Black Keys singer splitting from his wife, claims magazine
Dan Auerbach of US rock band the Black Keys has split from his wife, according to celebrity magazine Us Weekly.
The singer and guitarist attended the Grammy Awards on Sunday night without his wife Stephanie. The magazine quotes an unnamed source saying:
“Dan’s wife wasn’t there because they are going through a divorce.”
The split was “unfortunate”, added the source. Auerbach and Stephanie have a four year-old daughter, Sadie Little Auerbach.
Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney collected three awards at the event – for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album. Auerbach himself also scooped a fourth grammy – for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. According to the magazine, the singer did not wear a wedding ring to the ceremony.
A spokesman for the singer did not respond to a request from the magazine for comment.
Patrick Carney married his wife Emily at his Nashville home in September last year.
The Black Keys were formed in Akron, Ohio, in 2001. They have released seven albums to date.
