News: Brad Pitt donates to gay marriage campaign
Actor and film star Brad Pitt has announced that the plans to donate $100,000 to the National Marriage Fund to promote same sex marriage rights in various US states.
The National Marriage Fund, from US organisation the Human Rights Campaign, was set up to help fund campaigns to pass gay marriage legislation in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington.
The Human Rights Campaign works to promote equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.
The actor said he would double any contributions made to the fund over a 24 hour period, up to a maximum of $100,000. In an email to Human Rights Campaign supporters, he said:
“It’s unbelievable to me that people’s lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days. In Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington, voters will go to the polls to decide if gay and lesbian couples — our friends and neighbors — are worthy of the same protections as everyone else. But that’s the system we have and I’m not going to back down from the fight for loving and committed couples to have the ability to marry.”
Voters in the four states will pass judgement on the legal proposals on November 6, the same days the upcoming presidential election.

You’re absolutely right – it is complex and on so many levels! But, I have to say, you’re doing it proud and more thoroughly than the other legal blogs in my opinion.
I thought the sperm donor case was very interesting. I’ll watch the YouTube link tomorrow night after work.
