The Blawggies 2010 – and an interview to remember

blawg of the year

How time flies. Just two short weeks after this blog was first nominated, I’m now delighted to say that it has been awarded Blawg of the Year in the Blawggies 2010.

I am of course delighted by the accolade, and as well as thanking all those who voted for the blog, I’d also like to thank Michael at Law Actually and the authors of the Android’s Reminiscences and Law Minx blogs for organising the awards. Let’s hope that the UK’s first publicly nominated awards for legal blogs continue to thrive following a fantastic second year.

As usual my week has been very eventful, with one of the highlights a thoroughly enjoyable interview on BBC Radio Leeds’ One On One show with Liz Green. She is a consummate professional, well known for her dangerously disarming interview skills and as a consequence managed to extract a lot of information about me!

Readers of this blog will know I’m a Leeds girl, born and bred. The programme aired on Monday afternoon and you can listen again for a limited time by pressing the BBC Leeds button:

The interview also offered me an opportunity to dig into my musical past, so if you do get a chance to listen, let me know what you thought of my song choices! I played Enya, The Beatles, Roxy Music, U2, Barry Gibb…. and Demis Roussos, at which point one of our trainees apparently said, “Demis WHO?”

Both of us are showing our age, but who cares?
