Good. I cant stand Gail and I hope her lawyer is utterly useless and off she goes.
On the other hand ............I love Cilla. Id be Cilla if they wanted to reinvent her. Id even overdo the suntan.
So if you want to do a guest post;- be my guest. It would be fun.

when will the guest post be forthcoming from a criminal lawyer on gail's murder rap? i am agog!
i can tell you that her duty solicitor was dramatically deficient during her interview in that she failed to say 'my client has already answered that question'. as someone who has changed career from acting to the bar (yes alright 'changed') having played duty solicitors on the bill over some years, i can confirm that the line is compulsory in all tv police interviews. i think they just couldn't come up with anything else for the poor duty solicitor to say.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Well done you but how annoying are you?! You pre-empted my next post which was theatrically designed to follow the broadcast and is now unfortunately redundant!
As you will have noted, now that the outcome has been broadcast, forty minutes ago, Simon has made his choice and returned very dramatically (this is a soap after all) to his father and Leanne and also to Ken and Deidre, the grandparents he has grown up with all his life. He has returned to all that is familiar and has been familar to him throughout his life. He has rejected his maternal grandparent George, who he has known for only a few short months notwithstanding his father has slipped up once or twice with his drinking. This is apparently now under control and Peter has the support of his family.
There has been no full court adjudication. The court has not had to make a decision as to what is in the child's best interests -but I dont think for one minute the outcome would have been different given there is nothing in the HL decision in Re B that is contrary to the outcome in Corrie. I would have said in a longer post it actually reinforces the outcome because whilst there is nothing in the judgment that removes the emphasis on parentage -it makes clear, all the facts, including parentage, need to be taken into account, in applying the welfare test.
One further point, which I hope viewers will notice, is that in Corrie, the family has acted in unison and has ultimately amicably resolved where Simon is going to continue to live, George has stated he will withdraw his proceedings, he has conceded Simon's long term residence and there is to be no acrimonious court dispute.Although these were highly unusual circumstances, the family ultimately did pull together all recognising where the best interests of the child lay.
For now.
